Formula Goes West
For most of the year we weren’t sure we would be able to go to the
new FSAE West in California but at the last second we managed to
pull together just enough funding to make the journey. It was a
long, tiresome drive but the scenery of the California Speedway in
Fontana was worth it. The weather all week was perfect for racing
and we like to think that we made good use of it. Our 5th place in
acceleration, 7th in skidpad, 15th in autocross, and 13th in
endurance proved that our car has capability on the race track. We
also, once again, made a fine showing in the static events. We
placed 12th in presentation, 6th in cost, and
 2nd in design. This
was Auburn’s best ever finish in the design event and the first time
we made to finals. With such a promising first outing in California
we look forward to what 2007 holds for us out west. |
