Auburn students are actively involved in national competitions ranging from the SAE Mini Baja to the Formula 25 Hovercraft. Most organizations welcome students at any time of the year; several teams include non-engineering enthusiasts as well.

Formula 25 Hovercraft Team

Recently initiated by the Department of Textile Engineering, the Hovercraft Team competes in a national competition to drive a vehicle that can race on a challenging land/water track.

 
Formula SAE Team

Design, fabricate and race a an open-wheel racer to rigorous specifications within a tight timeline. Teams must demonstrate production costs and manufacturability, as well as market their design on its merits before proving their machine's abilities on the race track.

 
SAE Mini Baja Team

Design, fabricate and race a one-person vehicle on a multi-terrain race track.

Design, fabricate and race a one-person vehicle on a multi-terrain race track.

 
SOL of Auburn (Solar Car Team)

Design, fabricate and race a solar car over a 2,300 mile cross-country stretch.

 
Solar Decathlon Team

Designs and creates a comfortable home that competes in ten different contests ranging from energy balance to livability.

Design and program a fully autonomous robot for the annual IEEE SouthEastern Conference Robotics Competition
