What is AMS?

AMS is an organization located at Auburn University for students interested in the study of material science and engineering. The society is open to all who wish to join. AMS is associated with the Materials Engineering Curriculum. Membership in AMS provides the following benefits:

  •   The ability to participate in AMS-sponsored plant trips.

  •   The opportunity to hear engaging guest lecturers.

  •   The chance to socialize with other students and faculty that are
interested in materials science and engineering.

For those interested in becoming members, AMS sponsors trips to attend chapter meeting. AMS membership is jointly associated with ASM Intentional and The Minerals, Metals, and Materials Society (TMS). Please contact the president or club sponsor for more information.

Additionally, AMS has affiliations with American Ceramics Society (AcerS), the American Welding Society (AWS), and the Society of Plastics Engineers (SPE).
