UMass Amherst researcher to discuss power generation portfolios

A University of Massachusetts Amherst researcher will visit Auburn University on Friday and give a talk about evaluating regional power generation portfolios.

The talk, titled “Evaluating the Sustainability of Generation Portfolios: A Case Study of the New England Power Systems,” will be presented by Destenie Nock at 1 p.m. Friday in 1126 Shelby Center.

Nock, a doctoral candidate studying industrial engineering and operations research at UMass Amherst, will discuss long-term capacity planning for resource adequacy and sustainability in power generation portfolios.

Her talk is part of the Samuel Ginn College of Engineering’s Promoting Emerging Engineering Research Scholars seminar series.
