International Paper announces $200,000 gift to the Auburn Pulp and Paper Foundation

International Paper reaffirmed its commitment to Auburn University’s Samuel Ginn College of Engineering and the Auburn Pulp and Paper Foundation during a ceremony Thursday, Sept. 15, in which the company announced a $200,000 gift to the foundation.

“International Paper is proud of its decades-long relationship with Auburn University, the Samuel Ginn College of Engineering and the Auburn Pulp and Paper Foundation,” said Russell Harris, ’90 chemical engineering and International Paper manufacturing vice president. “Our gift to the APPF endowment will provide scholarships to ensure our industry benefits from a great academic program graduating stellar students.”

International Paper is a leading global producer of renewable fiber-based packaging, pulp and paper products with 53,000 employees operating in 24 countries.

The Auburn Pulp and Paper Foundation provides scholarship support to facilitate Auburn University providing an adequate and continuous supply of highly skilled entry level engineers into the pulp and paper and allied industries.

Auburn Engineering and International Paper have enjoyed a longstanding relationship with the college serving as a core school for the company’s recruiting efforts.
