jessica davisAuburn Engineering alums always seem to go above and beyond to spread the engineering love! Jessica Choice, '06 industrial and systems engineering; and Gavin Choice, '05 electrical engineering, visited approximately 300 kindergarten through 5th grade students at Kings Ridge Christian School in Alpharetta, Georgia on Friday, May 15 as part of the school's Career Day. Gavin and Jessica highlighted the benefits of being an engineer and created a "launch pad" catapult to show students how engineers solve problems and can bring big ideas to life. Students launched tennis balls, kick balls, plastic balls, and even stuffed animals to see how each item flew in the air using their handmade catapult! By the end of the demonstration, kids were coming up to Jessica and Gavin saying they wanted to be engineers when they grew up. Mission accomplished. Way to give back to your community, Gavin and Jessica, and promote why it's great to be an Auburn Engineer!
