Jeffery Fergus, professor in Auburn University’s Department of Material Engineering, traveled to New Delhi, India, in March for India’s National Board of Accreditation 2nd World Summit on Accreditation. Fergus was selected as one of 36 keynote speakers.

The focus of this summit was “International Recognition of Educational Qualifications,” providing a forum for establishing common benchmarks for technical and professional educational quality. His presentation on the assembly and preparation of accreditation teams was heard by professors, scholars, policy makers and administrators from around the world.

“The summit was a valuable opportunity to learn about different accreditation systems and processes,” said Fergus. “Although the constraints and objectives of accreditation may vary between countries, we all can learn from each other by sharing our experiences.”

Fergus joined the Auburn Engineering faculty in 1992, and has served on numerous scholarship, curriculum and academic committees.
