Bryan A. Chin, a professor in Auburn University’s materials engineering program, has been named a fellow of ASM International, the materials information society. Chin has been honored for his distinguished contributions to the field of materials science and engineering. He has also been recognized for contributions to understanding the relationships among composition, microstructure, processing and mechanical properties of ferritic and austentic steels for use in nuclear power generation. The 2010 ASM class of fellows was honored recently at an awards banquet in Houston, Texas. With 36,000 members worldwide, ASM provides authoritative information on materials and processes from the structural to the nanoscale.
