Malcolm J. Crocker has been named the Distinguished Graduate Faculty Lecturer for 2009-2010. The 36th recipient of the award, Crocker will give the Distinguished Graduate Faculty Lecture, "The World of Sound," Wednesday, Oct. 27, at 4 p.m. in 136 Ross Hall. He will be honored with a reception in the Ross Hall Atrium following the lecture. Crocker will discuss his research which is designed to measure and evaluate the sound quality of automobiles, to predict the launch noise of Saturn V and the Shuttle, to damp the vibration of the NASA Hubble Space Telescope, measure tire noise and design sound-absorbing road surfaces.
