Professor named fellow of ASM International

Bryan A. Chin

Bryan A. Chin, a professor in Auburn University’s Department of Materials Engineering, has been recognized for his distinguished contributions to the field of materials science and engineering by being named a fellow of ASM International, the materials information society. Chin has been cited specifically for contributions to the understanding of the relationships between composition, microstructure, processing and mechanical properties of ferritic and austentic steels for use in nuclear power generation. The 2010 Class of Fellows was honored during an awards banquet in Houston on Oct. 19. With 36,000 members worldwide, ASM provides authoritative information and knowledge on materials and processes from the structural to the nanoscale.
