Mark Byrne, Daniel F. and Josephine Breeden associate professor in chemical engineering, was recently recognized with the 2010 Outstanding Graduate Mentor Award for excellence, innovation and effectiveness in mentoring graduate students for their professional and personal development. The award is given each year by Auburn University’s Graduate Student Council to recognize faculty who go above and beyond for their students. Recipients are selected by a committee of graduate students.
Byrne was presented with a plaque and honored at a luncheon with fellow recipients Robert Boyd and Laura Silo-Suh of biological sciences, Donald Eakes of horticulture and Jill Salisbury Glennon of educational foundations, leadership and technology.
