Distinguished Dissertation Award winners announced

The Graduate School recently announced the winners of the Graduate School Distinguished Dissertation Awards. Nominations were solicited from the colleges and schools in the two categories of social sciences and mathematics, physical sciences and engineering. The winners include Min Carter, Suna Eryigit, Mary Beth Harben, Hasan Kocer, Michael Tiemeyer and Ziliang Zong. Award winners receive an honorarium of $500 and a certificate, which is presented at the Graduate School's annual award ceremony. Eryigit and Kocer were chosen from among the six winners to compete for the national Distinguished Dissertation Award. Nominations will be solicited in the fall for the 2011 awards in the categories of biological and life sciences and humanities and fine arts.
