Department names new members to alumni council

Auburn University's Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering recently added two new members to its alumni council. Carol Godfrey '86 and Mike Hopper '90 were chosen to join the 12-member council that advises the department and serves as the primary source for alumni and industry input.

Godfrey, vice president of marketing and product development for the energy division of Southwire Company, develops product and service offerings including strategic partnerships, new product manufacturing and acquisitions. With more than 25 years experience in sales, marketing, manufacturing and industrial engineering, Godfrey has worked for several leading national organizations, including Hubbell Incorporated, Alcan Aluminum Corporation, Ralston Purina Company and Tampa Electric Company. She and her husband, Gary Godfrey '86, live in Atlanta.

Hopper, an application implementation manager with Turner Broadcasting in Atlanta, leads the company's performance monitoring team. Hopper's career in information technology has taken him to several different companies, including Westinghouse Savannah River Site, TheraTx and ING Investment Management. A member of the Technology Association of Georgia, Hopper is a certified project manager by the Project Management Leadership Group, Inc. He and his wife Frankie live in Sandy Springs, Ga., with their two children, Kevin and Jessica.
