Registration is now open for 2010 ROBO Camp, a program developed by Auburn's Department of Computer Science and Software Engineering to reinforce computer literacy to children ages 10-18, while introducing advanced concepts and hands-on applications of computer programming and robotics.
This year's ROBO Camp will be held from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for six Saturdays, beginning Jan. 30 and ending on March 6. The cost for the classes is $150 and registration is limited.
Carnegie Mellon University Alice Programming System, Microsoft Kodu programming environment, Lego Mindstorms and Robotics Invention System, Lego Mindstorms NXT, and Lego Tetrix robots will be used to teach concepts of robotics and computer programming. Each student will receive from Pearson Education a free copy of the Alice textbook or a free Microsoft XBox Game.
