Gang Sun, professor in the textiles division at the University of California-Davis will present "Production of Halamine Polyolefin Nanofibers with Chemical and Biological Protective Functions" on Friday, Aug. 28, at 10 a.m. in 104 Textile Engineering Building. Sun's lecture is hosted by Auburn University's Department of Polymer and Fiber Engineering.

Sun will discuss nanofibers that can be produced from polymer blends. His work involves chemically modified polymers that are processed into nano and submicrofibers. The project converts halamine structures after chlorine bleaching, which provides rapid and refreshable biocidal functions against most pathogens upon contact.
