Engineering professor receives organization's technical innovation award

Auburn University industrial and systems engineering faculty member Kevin Gue was recently recognized with the Award for Technical Innovation in Industrial Engineering at the 2009 Institute of Industrial Engineers (IIE) annual conference and expo. This award honors a single innovative technical contribution made in one of several areas, including theory, design, application, implementation and leadership. In order to receive the award, candidates must make a distinguishable impact in expanding knowledge about the field, establishing or changing knowledge in some way or displaying exceptional leadership in a major project.

Founded in 1948, IIE is the world's largest professional society that supports the industrial engineering profession. IIE is recognized internationally as the top provider of progressive education in industrial engineering, the source of productivity information and the only association that supports accredited industrial engineering programs through the Accreditation Board for Engineering Technology, Inc. (ABET).
