Auburn University's Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering will host a seminar on Tuesday, June 30 at 3 p.m. in 3210 Shelby Center. Michael Gray, doctoral student in the department, will present "Data Mining Medication Administration Incident Data to Identify Opportunities for Improving Patient Safety."
Gray's research highlights relationships within data that cause medication administration errors in hospitals. In his discussion, Gray will demonstrate mining techniques to analyze incident report data, which can help hospitals predict these errors. This will allow hospitals to focus on sub-processes of clinical methods that typically produce a majority of medication administration errors.
