Ozgur Kabadurmus, doctoral student in Auburn University's Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering, has received a second place award in the third Lean Student Paper Competition from the Institute of Industrial Engineers (IIE) Lean Division. The award, sponsored by Auburn ISE professor emeritus J T. Black and his wife Carol, recognizes outstanding papers in the field of lean research and practices.
Kabadurmus will receive his award and present his winning paper, "A Comparative Study of POLCA and Generic CONWIP Production Control Systems in Erratic Demand Conditions" at the IIE annual conference, held in Miami in May.
