Registration is now open for 2009 ROBO Camp, a program developed by Auburn University's Department of Computer Science and Software Engineering to reinforce computer literacy to children ages 10-18. This year's ROBO Camp will be held from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for six Saturdays beginning Feb. 7 and ending on March 14. The cost for the class is $150 and registration is limited.
ROBO Camp introduces advanced concepts and hands-on applications of computer programming and robotics. The camp will reinforce students' knowledge of basic computer architecture, while presenting more advanced concepts, such as robotics and computer programming through practice with programs such as Alice; Lego Mindstorms and Robotics Invention System; Lego Mindstorms NXT and Microsoft Robotics; the CRS-A255 robot and other Microsoft interactive applications. This year's camp will also expose participants to a series of curriculum modules for developing games using the XNA Framework and Zune.
