Greg Ojard, principal engineer with Pratt and Whitney in East Hartford, Conn., will speak on Oct. 15 at 1 p.m. in 104 Textile Building. He will present "Ceramic Matrix Composite Characterization and Insertion Opportunities into Gas Turbine Engines." His lecture is hosted by Auburn University's Department of Polymer and Fiber Engineering.

Ojard will discuss advanced materials such as ceramic matrix composites (CMCs) and their targeting durability improvement in gas turbine engines. He will also present results of testing carried out on a series of creep and dwell fatigue samples.
