Hasan Kocer, doctoral student in Auburn University's Department of Polymer and Fiber Engineering, will present "Annealing Studies on Thermotropic Liquid Crystalline Polyester Meltblown Fabric," on Tuesday, Oct. 28 at 3 p.m. in 104 Textile Building. Meltblown fabrics are used in high-performance filtration.

Kocer will present his research findings of meltblown fabrics composed of thermotropic liquid crystalline polyester, which were subjected to heat conditioning at various temperatures. He examined the physical effect of the treatment by tensile testing the fabrics and the individual fibers. Kocer will also discuss the calorimetric behavior of the materials he investigated to obtain information about their internal structure.
