Kia executive to discuss new manufacturing plant, future of automobile industry

Randy Jackson, director of human resources and administration at Kia Motors Manufacturing Georgia, Inc., will present "Get to Know Kia Motors, 'The Fastest Growing Automobile Company in the World'" on Thursday, Oct. 16 at 9:30 a.m. in 104 Textile Building. He will discuss Kia's newest manufacturing plant, which is under construction in West Point, Ga., as well as its economic impact. Jackson's presentation is hosted by Auburn University's Department of Polymer and Fiber Engineering.

Prior to joining Kia in 2007, Jackson was employed with Mercedes Benz USA and International, Inc. in Vance, Ala., where he was a member of the senior executive management team, leading the human resource group to support their major expansions and growth. Jackson previously worked for Toyota North America as general manager of human resources and administration. He helped establish plants in West Virginia, Indiana, Missouri, Alabama, Mexico and Europe, and led several Toyota expansions in Canada and the U.S.

Jackson is a member of the Korean Southeast United States chamber of commerce board. He graduated from the University of Georgia with a degree in psychology in 1979. He also received his master's of business administration from Century University and earned a law degree from UCLA. Jackson has his legal certification in labor law from the Institute of Applied Management and Law.
