Feng He, a doctoral graduate in civil engineering, has been selected as a winner of the American Chemical Society (ACS) Best Student Paper Award, the highest award given to students by ACS's division of environmental chemistry. He will present his paper, "Synthesis and Characterization of a New Class of Carboxymethyl Cellulose Stabilized Pd Nanoparticles for Catalytic Hydrodechlorination of Trichloroethylene," at a special awards symposium at the fall ACS meeting in Philadelphia. During the meeting, he will also be a guest at the environmental division dinner, where he will receive a $1,000 award.
During his doctoral study Feng produced 10 high-quality manuscripts, five of which were published in highly rated journals such as Environmental Science and Technology, Langmuir and Industrial and Engineering Chemical Research.
