Adit D. Singh, James B. Davis Professor of Electrical & Computer Engineering, has been elected chair of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) Test Technology Technical Council (TTTC). Focusing on testing, reliability and quality assurance of integrated circuits and systems, the TTTC is one of the largest and most active of the 40 technical councils and societies within IEEE.

In 2007, the TTTC sponsored 33 technical conferences and workshops worldwide, which were held at locations in Armenia, Belgium, China, Egypt, Germany, Greece, Italy, Peru, Poland and Portugal, and in addition to several in the U.S. and Canada. The TTTC also has a very active technical standards effort, with over a dozen new test standards currently in development; the recently launched IEEE 1500 - Standard for Embedded Core Test is already being rapidly adopted by industry. Other TTTC sponsored activities include the Test Technology Education Program, which conducts continuing education programs for test professionals, and several technical publications, including the flagship IEEE Design and Test of Computers.

Singh has served on the electrical and computer engineering faculty at Auburn since 1991. He holds a bachelor's degree from the Indian Institute of Technology in Kanpur, and master's and doctoral degrees from Virginia Tech, all in electrical engineering. He is an IEEE fellow and a Golden Core member of the IEEE Computer Society.
