ISE seminar to provide an overview of Lean principles

Phillip A. Farrington, professor in the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering and Engineering Management at the University of Alabama - Huntsville (UAH), will deliver the next lecture in the Industrial Engineering Graduate Seminar Series on Tuesday, November 13, at 2 p.m. in Dunstan 202. Farrington will provide an overview of Lean thinking principles and tools, and their connection to industrial engineering. The university community is invited to attend this lecture.

Farrington is the director of distance learning for the UAH College of Engineering. He holds bachelor's and master's degrees in industrial engineering from the University of Missouri-Columbia and a doctorate in industrial engineering and management from Oklahoma State University. His research interests include the integration of lean, six-sigma and industrial engineering; integrated product development; quality engineering; and rapid simulation model development. He is a member of the American Society of Quality, the Institute of Industrial Engineers, the American Society for Engineering Education and the American Society for Engineering Management.
