Warren O. Haggard, professor and Herff Chair of Excellence in the Biomedical Engineering Department at the University of Memphis, will deliver a seminar on Friday, October 5 at 11 a.m. in Textile Building 119. The seminar is part of the Department of Polymer and Fiber Engineering Seminar series.

An AU alumnus, Haggard will discuss polymeric approaches in regenerative medicine and tissue engineering. This research has presented some exciting and stimulating preliminary examples, such as the tissue engineered bladder and fibrous cartilage ear. While these examples are thrilling, many complex and difficult research and development opportunities remain to be pursued for full development and implementation of these unique approaches. A few polymeric approaches with degradable and non-degradable polymers for musculoskeletal clinical issues will be presented.
