Marc Schleyer from the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Karlsruhe University in Germany will be giving the final seminar of the semester in the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering. His lecture, Discrete Time Analysis of Batch Processes in Material Flow Systems, will be held Monday, April 30 at 3 p.m. in Dunstan 202.
Schleyer's lecture will cover how queueing theory is the most suitable analytical tool in the literature for stochastic modeling of material flow systems. Models will be used to support this theory and the "Logistic Analyzer" software will also be used. The seminar will conclude with the discussion of the advantages and disadvantages of the proposed analytical methods compared to simulation.
