ScienceDirect has named an article by Jeffrey Fergus, an associate professor in materials engineering at Auburn University, as the most popular article on its TOP25 list for articles downloaded from the journal, "Solid State Ionics." Titled "Oxide anode materials for solid oxide fuel cells," the piece was included in the journal in July 2006. The article reviews the oxide materials being investigated as alternatives to the most commonly used nickel anodes for solid oxide fuel cells. This is the second article written by Fergus to top the list.
"It is always an honor to have your research recognized in a manner such as this," Fergus said. "It is gratifying that your work is of interest and useful to your colleagues."
The TOP25 list is updated every three months. In order to determine its TOP25, ScienceDirect tracks the number of times scientific articles are downloaded from its informational website. A list is made quarterly of the articles that are most downloaded in various categories.
