TigErgonomics, ergonomic graduate student team from Auburn University, is a finalist in the first-ever Applied Ergonomics Student Design competition sponsored by Auburn Engineers, Inc. The team will be competing for the top prize at the 10th Annual Applied Ergonomics Conference, March 12-15 in Dallas, Texas. TigErgonomics team members are John Lesh, Kelly Combs, Rahi Movassagh and Andrew Dillon. Faculty advisor for the team is Jerry Davis, assistant professor in industrial and systems engineering.

"We are extremely pleased that Auburn's team has been invited to compete in the finals," says Davis. "The students have been working hard to prepare for their trip next month, and we wish them the best at the competition."

Using Auburn Engineers, Inc. electronic Applied Ergonomics simulation software, the teams addressed problems associated with the moving, handling, and storage of scuba diving gear, specifically the compressed air tanks. Each team was to solve the ergonomic problems associated with the case and prepare their solutions. At the conference, the finalists will be given additional information on the case and time to be even more creative in their solutions. The winning team will be announced at the conference on March 15.
