The Department of Computer Science and Software Engineering will host a seminar on computing and diversity on Monday, September 11 at 3 p.m. in 112 Thatch Hall. The speaker will be Juan Gilbert, associate professor in computer science and software engineering at Auburn University. The university community is invited to attend.
Gilbert will discuss the legal, ethical and practical implications of court decisions on race, diversity and school admissions in his presentation, "Computing Diversity: Affirmative Action and Race Neutral Policies." The discussion will also describe how colleges and universities can diversify their student populations through computing.
