The Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering will continue its summer seminar series Wednesday July 12 at 1 p.m. in Dunstan 202. The speaker will be master's student Jaime Strickland. The university community is invited to attend.

Strickland's seminar. 'Assembly Line Balancing Methods that Consider Physical Demand Criteria,' investigates assembly line balancing models that consider both task productivity and physical demands on workers. The mixed model manufacturing line used at Briggs and Stratton in Auburn will be used as an example. The analysis tool Proplanner, a software program that helps automate, streamline and integrate production system activities, will be discussed at length, along with its counterpart, an Ergonomic Job Analysis software developed at the University of Arkansas.
