The materials engineering program offers an undergraduate program leading to a Bachelor of Materials Engineering degree.

The materials engineering curriculum allows students to gain comprehensive knowledge and understanding of the relationships between the structure and properties of materials. Courses are designed to offer students a broad foundation in chemistry, physics, and mathematics. Among the materials courses in the curriculum are classes and labs covering metals, ceramics, polymers, and the design and selection of those materials. While studying materials engineering, students have the opportunity to explore different fields through a sequence of technical electives in other engineering disciplines. A series of senior capstone project courses also allows students to apply materials science principles to open-ended engineering problems.
