The Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering has been granting degrees since 1932 and has more than 4,000 living alumni. According to U.S. News & World Report, our college ranks 31st in the nation among public institutions. We offer a Bachelor of Science, Master of Science in Industrial and Systems Engineering (Thesis), Master of Science in Industrial and Systems Engineering (Non-Thesis), Ph.D. as well as a Master of Engineering Management (MEM) degree. 

Online degree options are available and the department has the largest online graduate enrollment in the Auburn University College of Engineering. The department also offers four graduate certificates: Manufacturing Systems, Automotive Manufacturing Systems, Modeling for Data Analytics and Operations, and Occupational Safety and Ergonomics.

As of fall 2023, the department has 233 graduate students enrolled. Recent graduate students have been employed by companies such as Intel, Delta Airlines, General Motors, Honda, Accenture, Harris, Siemens, Hyundai and NASA, and by universities such as Penn State, Old Dominion University, University of Louisville and the University of San Diego.
