AU Professor Testifies Before Congress

Auburn University professor Dr. Juan Gilbert, creator of the Prime III voting system, recently traveled to Washington, D.C., Wednesday in hopes of securing funds for electronic voting research. Gupta Publishes Book on Hydrogen Fuel

H2 Fuel Cover page Ram B. Gupta, Alumni professor in Auburn University's Department of Chemical Engineering, has released his third book, "Hydrogen Fuel: Production, Transport and Storage." The 624-page book begins with discussion of the world's dependence on fossil fuels and resulting environmental problems. Gupta and expert contributors focus on a clean, economical alternative to non-renewable energy, suggesting that hydrogen might be the next great fuel source, as it is available worldwide and water is its only byproduct. Wang Receives ORAU Recognition

Jin Wang, faculty member in Auburn University's Department of Chemical Engineering, has received a 2008 Ralph E. Powe Junior Faculty Enhancement Award for her proposal, "Inferring Gene Regulatory Mechanisms through Integrated Metabolic Network Analysis and Cybernetic Modeling." Chosen from more than 100 scientists across the nation, Wang was presented a $5,000 stipend which will be matched by Auburn for future research, equipment or travel expenses. Read more >>

Yilmaz Named Editor-in-Chief of International Journal

Levent Yilmaz, associate professor in the Department of Computer Science and Software Engineering, has been appointed editor-in-chief of Simulation: Transactions of the Society for Modeling and Simulation International. Yilmaz will direct the editorial activities of the flagship journal of the leading society devoted to advancing the discipline and profession of modeling and simulation. Read more >>
