Dann Reviews Learning Styles and ALICE Educational Software

The Department of Computer Science and Software Engineering, along with Auburn's Biggio Center for the Enhancement of Teaching and Learning, hosted Wanda Dann, associate professor, Department of Computer Science, Ithaca College, and senior researcher, Entertainment Technology Center & Human Computer Interaction Institute, Carnegie Mellon University. Dann's lecture was part of a series sponsored by the Auburn's Women's Initiatives, Auburn's Women's Studies Program and Pearson Education.

Dann's first seminar, "Learning Styles Research" focused on her visualization and programming languages research at Ithaca College and Carnegie Mellon University. A second talk, set up as a hands-on workshop titled "Why Everybody Loves Alice," provided an overview of the Alice educational software package, developed by Carnegie Mellon University to provide the best possible first exposure to programming for students ranging from middle scholars to college students.
