Chemical Engineering Colloquium on Future Energy Sources, the Environment, and the Economics

Energy production and the associated environmental and economic impacts thereof are of great importance as they impact virtually every aspect of industrialized society including national security issues and the potential for global climate change. The Department of Chemical Engineering, along with their regular seminars is offering a special colloquium to examine various aspects of these three topics and in particular their close inter-relationships and highly interactive nature.

The lineup of speakers includes representatives from energy production industries, including petroleum production & refining, nuclear power, solar energy, wind power to liquid fuels, coal-based utilities, and various biomass/renewable energy conversion processes and producers. Other speakers will address the impact of manmade CO2 on climate models and global climate change and the business of energy.
