Juan Gilbert

Juan Gilbert, TSYS Distinguished Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Software Engineering at Auburn University, recently led a workshop on opportunities in diversity research. The workshop explores samples of diversity research; funding, publishing and collaborative research opportunities; as well as discussions on AU's new Research Institute for the Study of Diversity.

HCCL logoDirector of the Human-Centered Computing (HCC) Lab, Gilbert has an established research record in diversity research. Specifically, he has done work in electronic voting systems for the disabled, data mining tools for affirmative action, culturally relevant computing in educational systems, broadening participation in computing and STEM, and several other areas. He has a national reputation as a leader in diversity research, which is evident by his more than 100 public speaking engagements and numerous publications.
