Engineering professionals from Huntsville, representing NASA, the Department
of Defense and various private industries, visited with Auburn students interested
in learning more about employment, living and recreational opportunities in the
Huntsville area.
"Huntsville represents a popular destination for Auburn engineering graduates," says Ralph Zee, acting associate provost and vice president for research at Auburn University, who took part in organizing the visit. "This was a great opportunity for our students to find out more about employment in the area as well as some information about Huntsville lifestyles."
More than 45 students, both undergraduate and graduate, attended the hour and
a half session.
"I was very pleased with the turnout and level of student interest," says Harry Craft, retired NASA manager currently serving as university liaison for business development with the Samuel Ginn College of Engineering. "During the second half of the session, a panel that included representatives from NASA and area contractors, including ATK Thiokol and Gray Research fielded a wide range of student questions. I think all involved enjoyed and benefitted from the interchange."
