Program Outcomes
Auburn University Civil Engineering graduates will
- Have an ability to apply knowledge of (1) mathematics, (2) science, (3) basic engineering principles, and (4) at least four major civil engineering technical areas;
- Have an ability to (1) conduct laboratory experiments and critically analyze and interpret data in civil engineering disciplines, (2) design systems, components, or processes in more than one civil engineering context, (3) identify, formulate, and solve engineering problems, (4) design a system, component, or process to meet desired needs within realistic constraints, (5) communicate effectively, and (6) contribute as a member of a multidisciplinary team ;
- Be able to explain (1) basic concepts in business and management, (2) basic concepts in public policy, and (3) basic concepts in leadership;
- Understand (1) professional and ethical responsibilities of a civil engineer, (2) importance of life-long learning and professional registration; and
- Have knowledge of contemporary issues and the broad education necessary to understand the impact of engineering solutions in a global, economic, environmental, and societal context.
