Mario Eden receives Pumphrey Teaching Award for Excellence, named Outstanding Faculty Member

Dr. Mario Eden has been named the 2010-2011 Outstanding Faculty Member in the Department of Chemical Engineering, and has been awarded the 2011 Fred H. Pumphrey Teaching Award for Excellence and the 2010-2011 SGA Award for Outstanding Faculty Member in the Samuel Ginn College of Engineering.

Outstanding Faculty Member in the Department of Chemical Engineering is an honor awarded by graduating seniors in the Department of Chemical Engineering. He was previously named Outstanding Faculty Member in Department of Chemical Engineering in 2008-2009.

The Fred H. Pumphrey Teaching Award is funded by an endowment established by Dr. Pumphrey, dean of the College of Engineering from 1958 to 1968. This endowment is administered by the Auburn Alumni Engineering Council, a group established by Pumphrey. This is the second time that Dr. Eden is recognized by the students for his excellence in teaching, having won the Pumphrey Award in 2009.

As the recipient of the Pumphrey Teaching Award, the Engineering Student Council selected Dr. Eden as the 2010-2011 Outstanding Faculty Member in the Samuel Ginn College of Engineering. It is the second time that Dr. Eden is recognized by the students for his excellence in teaching, having SGA award for 2008-2009 Outstanding Faculty Member in the Samuel Ginn College of Engineering.
