The Invention
Commercialization Service of the Thomas Walter
Center for Technology Management is available to the public for an
independent evaluation of their
inventions.
All submitted ideas are subjected to an initial screening process. The screening
decision will
be based on whether the idea is:
- Novel and new to the market
- A substantial improvement over ‘competing’
products.
- Marketable.
- Safe and would not pose major liability issues.
- Technically feasible
- Patentable
- Ready for evaluation by the ICS.
At the end of the screening process, we will
let you know if ICS will conduct a more in-depth analysis of the invention.
You
will receive an e-mail informing you of our decision in about three weeks
after receiving your formal submission. If the invention passes
the screening stage, our feasibility report prepared in 6-12 weeks may
include: Product Definition, Market Potential, Technical Potential, Estimate of
additional Research & Development, Major hurdles, Financial Potential, and
Recommendation.
For more information on
the screening process, please click on the New Idea Screening Application.
ICS may be contacted by
email.
