Courses offered in the Aerospace Engineering department:

Fall 2017 - Aerospace Engineering Analysis This course covers the essential fundamentals of ordinary and partial differential equations. Topics include: Linear first order ODE, homogeneous and non-homogeneous second order linear initial value problems (IVPs), Laplace transforms and inversions, linear equations with constant coefficients, Sturm-Liouville systems and boundary value problems, regular and singular Sturm-Liouville problems, Fourier transforms, heat equations, wave equations, Laplace equations, well-posed problems.

Spring 2017 - Wave Propagation in Elastic Solids This course covers the theory of wave propagation in elastic solids. Topics include: waves in strings, waves in bars, method of characteristics, wave dispersion and wave packets, flexural waves, plane waves in infinite medium, semi-infinite medium, plane waves in layered materials, Rayleigh waves, wave reflections and refractions, waves in periodic systems.
