Constructed: 1949
Renovated: 2002
Location: 311 West Magnolia Avenue
Primary use: Academic offices for materials engineering, laboratory and graduate student office space for materials, mechanical, civil, chemical and aerospace engineering.
This recently renovated building was constructed after WWII as a classroom building. Named after John J. Wilmore, former engineering faculty and dean, director of the Engineering Experiment Station, and chair of the administrative committee that guided Auburn through the Depression.
After years of solid service, the shopworn facility was transformed into a state-of-the-art laboratory and office complex housing the materials engineering group, mechanical and chemical engineering labs and workspace, and workshops for student teams.
