AUBURN TECHNOLOGY MUSEUM - OVERVIEW

The proposed Auburn Technology Museum will provide a central site for preserving historical documents and physical artifacts related to technology. It is expected that, at least initially, these items will be related to research, teaching, and outreach performed at Auburn University. However, a broader vision is that the collection might eventually include items from throughout the state and beyond.

Plans are currently being developed for an on-line virtual museum that will include oral histories from several professors emeriti and others who have had a long association with technology at Auburn. The virtual museum will also contain photos and video of artifacts, as well as document archives accessible online.

A longer-term goal is to pursue funding and support for a physical museum building and staff.
